റഷ്യ പ്രസിഡന്റ് വ്ളാഡിമിർ പുട്ടിന്റെ കടുത്ത വിമർശകനും പ്രതിപക്ഷനേതാവുമായ അലക്സി നവൽനി (47) ജയിലിൽ മരിച്ചതായി അധികൃതർ അറിയിച്ചു. അതിശൈത്യമേഖലയായ യമോല നെനറ്റ്സ് പ്രവിശ്യയിലെ ജയിലിൽ പ്രഭാതനടത്തത്തിനുശേഷം കുഴഞ്ഞുവീണെന്നാണ് അറിയിച്ചത്. പുട്ടിൻ ഭരണത്തിലെ അഴിമതിക്കെതിരെ ഒരു ദശകത്തിലേറെ സമരം നയിച്ച നവൽനി വിവിധ കേസുകളിലായി 28 വർഷം തടവിനാണു ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നത്.
